Warm-Up Steps for Skipping Rope

How to Skip Rope

1. Proper Arm Position: Keep your arms close to your body, maintaining an angle of approximately 90 degrees between your arms and elbows. This will help control your movement.
2. Wrist Motion: Use your wrists to swing the rope, keeping your palms facing down. Avoid flipping your wrists up or having them face each other.
3. Jump Height: Limit your jump height to between 3 to 5 cm. Allow for slight knee bending and a gentle buffering motion upon landing to absorb the impact.
4. Knee Position: Keep your knees straight during jumps. Avoid excessive bending in your calves to maintain proper form.
5. Breathing: Breathe rhythmically throughout your workout. Aim to keep your body relaxed, which will help you maintain endurance.
6. Jumping Groups:
   • Beginners: Divide your workout into 2-3 sets of 50-110 jumps, resting for 1 minute between sets.
   • Advanced: Break your workout into 2 sets of 380-520 jumps, with 1-minute breaks in between.
7. Workout Duration: Aim to exercise for 30 minutes to 2 hours, with a minimum of 15 minutes of continuous skipping as an optional target.
8. Safety Precautions: It’s recommended to have a workout partner and maintain a distance of at least 5 meters from other people and objects while jumping rope to ensure safety.
